I once heard Orange described as a Youthful Red, WOW it really is!
Orange is a blend of red and yellow. It is a mixture of the energy associated with red and the happiness associated with yellow. Orange connects with meanings of enthusiasm, creativity, success, encouragement, change, determination, health, stimulation, balance, freedom, expression, joy and warmth.
Psychologically, Orange promotes a sense of general wellness and emotional energy. It aids in the assimilation of new ideas and frees the spirit of its limitations, giving us the freedom to be ourselves. Orange will help a person recover from disappointments, a wounded heart, or a blow to one’s pride.
Studies show that this color can create physical effects such as increased hunger. It stimulates the appetite and is a popular color in restaurants to encourage the feeling of hunger and contentment. If you love having people around the kitchen table, orange will keep them talking and eating for a long time.
Lastly, my favorite component is that Orange relates to 'gut reaction' or our gut instincts. (As opposed to the physical reaction of red or the mental reaction of yellow)
