TUESDAY ART DAY

Welcome Back to TUESDAY ART DAY!

Today we will be dissecting the color wheel a bit more.  Remebering our colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue & Voilet.  We are going to identify Primary, Secondary and Tertiary colors.  This is going to be as simple as remembering 1, 2, 3.

Have you every heard of Primary Colors?

Primary Colors are RED. YELLOW. BLUE

Just like a Primary number, a Primary color is a pigment of color that cannot be made by mixing together any other colors.

What makes Primary colors so important is that they are mixed to create all other colors in the color wheel, such as secondary colors.

What are the Secondary colors?  Secondary colors are created by mixing together equal parts of two primary colors

Secondary colors are  ORANGE. GREEN. VIOLET.

For Example:
RED + YELLOW= ORANGE
YELLOW + BLUE=GREEN
BLUE + RED= VIOLET

Lastly, I would like to mention the Tertiary colors.  These colors are created by Mixing a Primary with a Secondary.

Red-Violet. Red-Orange. Yellow-Orange. Yellow-Green. Blue-Green. Blue Violet are all the Tertiary colors

So there you have it!  Next week we will be learning about Color Theory.  Do certain colors evoke a feeling or change your mood?
